Dance Development

The project aims to develop the provision of opportunities to access high quality dance experience across the Isle of Wight and Southern Regions. To this extent the Council supports a part-time Dance Development Coordinator post that works to meet the aims of the Dance Development Strategy.

The Dance Development Project runs a series of regular and annual events including Summer School of Dance, The Schools’ Dance Festival and Youth Dance Classes. In addition, the project works in partnership with other agencies to secure external funding for specialist and one-off targeted initiatives.
